Lecture "The dream of family happiness"

11.06.2026

For many women, the birth of a child is the most wonderful moment in life. However, this comes with legal consequences that take effect “automatically.” Parents must apply for parental leave and a daycare spot, and, if necessary, arrange for custody, visitation rights, and child support. Without timely planning, what should be a joyful time can quickly turn into the opposite.

The Coordination Office for Women and the Economy in the Cuxhaven District would therefore like to invite women who are in the process of planning a family to a lecture on Thursday, June 11, about the legal implications of having a child. Judge Thomas Walther will explain how to avoid personal and financial disadvantages—especially in the context of a possible separation of the parents.

The lecture is free of charge and will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Agency for Economic Development, Kapitän-Alexander-Str. 1, 27472 Cuxhaven. Please register by June 9 at fundw@landkreis-cuxhaven.de.

The Coordination Office for Women and the Economy in the Cuxhaven District is co-funded by the European Union, the State of Lower Saxony, and the Cuxhaven District. It is part of the Cuxhaven District’s Department of Economy, Mobility, and Tourism.
